The DFW Area Housing Report for the end of August shows a continuing upward trend in home prices due to remaining buyer activity and shortage of inventory. Although overall prices began to soften slightly in some areas the statistics for August tell the story that the market still has a full head of steam!
The report shows continued increase in prices though there is some softening that is likely due to a seasonal effect coupled with the slight increase in inventory in some areas. Regardless of these minor variations, the market remains a strong Sellers’ market with strong activity and rising prices. The forecast from the housing market analysts remains positive and relatively unchanged for 2021 into 2022.

The 30 year low interest rates combined with a substantial increase in equity may provide a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to use the current market to leverage into a larger home in a better neighborhood for the same or even lower monthly payment. It is certainly worth a look!
