Plano is just 19 miles north of downtown Dallas. It is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex (DFW) and about 25 miles from both Dallas Love Field and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. Plano is the 9th largest city in Texas and 4th largest city in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. Like many of the cities in Dallas's northern suburbs, Plano serves as a bedroom community for professionals who work in DFW.
The City is home to many leading global corporations including several Fortune 1,000 companies and more than 10,000 businesses. Plano boasts of a proud and rich heritage dating back before the mid-1800's and has become one of the gems of North Texas. Plano lies mostly within Collin County, but includes a small portion that extends into Denton County.
